Maxwell: Maxwell is his middle name; he has chosen to keep his first and last name private out of safety for his family. He was born to a Black Puerto Rican father and a Black American mother. The loss of his father at the age of three in plane crash (he was returning to his native country for a visit), greatly impacted him as a person and as an artist. Maxwell first performed in a Baptist church, and was heavily inspired by the work of artists such as Marvin Gaye and Prince. Maxwell began his interest in music at the age of 17 by writing songs. He eventually got a record deal with Columbia Records in 1994 when he was 21 years old.

Ledisi: For Ledisi, singing her soul over funked-out R&B tracks just comes naturally. The New Orleans native has been a neo-soul mainstay for the better part of the last decade and she is hoping that her fifth album will make her a household name. She will release "Pieces of Me" this June, 2011 and will tour in support of the album. Ledisi tour dates are currently available and tickets are on sale.

Ledisi was born into a musical family, and she drew inspiration from her soul-singer mother and the rich cultural history of Louisiana. She began performing with the New Orleans Symphony Orchestra where she honed her vocal ability before moving to Oakland to enroll at the University of California - Berkley. She studied opera and piano for several years before forming the group Anibade in the late '90s. The group recorded a demo and shopped it around to all the major labels, but was unable to secure a deal.

After her stint with Anibade, Ledisi decided to go solo and she released her debut album "Soulsinger: The Revival," on her own independent label, LeSun Records. In support of the album, she re-teamed with Anibade and toured the country, however, the album didn't make an impact on the charts. She released her sophomore set, "Feeling Orange but Sometimes Blue", in 2002 and was able to garner some national attention and acclaim. In 2003, the album won her the California Music Award for Outstanding Jazz Album and her songs were licensed out to commercials.

Ledisi went on a five year hiatus before signing a major-label deal with Verve Records. She released "Lost & Found" in 2007 and the album quickly made an impact on the Billboard charts. The album spawned the singles "Alright" and "Think of You", and peaked at #10 on the R&B albums survey. She gained mainstream attention when she was nominated for two awards at the 2008 Grammy's, including Best New Artist and Best R&B album for "Lost and Found". Ledisi tour dates were scheduled in support of the album and in light of the critical attention that she was receiving.

She went on to release her fourth and most recent album, "Turn Me Loose", in 2008. It debuted at #1 on the Billboard R&B Charts and featured production by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis as well as Raphael Saddiq. The album was nominated for Best R&B album and Best Female R&B Vocal Performance for the single "Goin' Thru Changes", at the 2010 Grammy Awards.

Ledisi will release "Pieces of Me" this June, 2011 and will tour in support of the album. Ledisi concert dates are currently scheduled nationally with R&B crooner, Kem, this 2011. She is redefining neo-soul with her jazz infused melodies and silky smooth vocals. Use Eventful as your source for Ledisi tour dates and concert schedule information.

Common: Common's unique brand of socially conscious and slightly alternative hip hop has made him one of the most widely acclaimed rappers of the past twenty years. While Common's trademark, politically and socially charged lyrics have sparked conflict with some, they have also brought him a huge fan base that shows up in droves to tour dates. These same fans are eagerly awaiting a set release date for Common's upcoming album, The Dreamer, The Believer, and if 2011 tour dates will follow the album's release.

Lonnie Corant Jaman Shuka Rashid Lynn, Jr., was born on the South Side of Chicago and formed his first rap trio, C.D.R., while in high school. While the group successfully opened tour dates for groups like N.W.A., he took a hiatus to attend college before releasing his debut album, Can I Borrow A Dollar?, in 1992 under the alias Common Sense. In 1999, the rapper began working with a musical collective known as the Soulquarians, which consisted of founder Questlove, Mos Def, Erykah Baduh, D'Angelo, and J Dilla, among others. Soulquarians helped Common hit his mainstream stride with production assistance on his fourth album, Like Water for Chocolate, which was released in 2000 to nearly universal acclaim, while also quickly going gold.

The Soulquarians also assisted Common on his next album, Electric Circus, which featured a more experimental sound; the style was praised by critics who saw an evolutionary sound but blasted by fans who wanted another Like Water for Chocolate. Shortly after tour dates in promotion of the album, Common began working more often with Kanye West, who he had known for years through their shared mentor, No I.D. West helped produce Common's second gold record, Be, in 2005, which also received nearly universally positive reviews and was nominated for four Grammys. Common received similar success with the West produced Finding Forever in 2007 and fans have been waiting for the release of The Dreamer, The Believer since 2008. The album and tour dates have been delayed by Common's popular and thriving acting career.

While fans won't have to wait long for The Dreamer, The Believer to be released, they might not experience any tour dates in 2011. No official release date has been given for the new album, but it is likely that Common will schedule a number of tour dates to promote the record once it does release. Be sure to check Eventful for all the latest on any Common tour dates in 2011.
